I’ve read countless autobiographies and memoirs over the years, many of which were quite engaging. Alas many of them were so shallow they were completely unmoving, and just as many were clearly penned because the author saw a quick money-making deal.
Love, Loss, and What We Ate: A Memoir by Padma Lakshmi is not only in the engaging group, it is a work of extraordinary storytelling that I heartily recommend.
While a love of food helps, the story she tells is so poignant and soul-searching that a non-foodie will be moved. If you’re looking for that next good read then look no further.
